Absolute neatest antique store find ever...a woman's scrap book photo album and travel log covering 3 different road trips in the summer of 1939. A 3 week trip from Peoria, IL through the West Coast in June, followed by a trip to Wisconsin in July, then Tennessee in August. She kept meticulous logs of the daily activities and even recorded the daily mileage and time, and kept tons of stuff like brochures, post cards, maps, match books, and receipts. All of it is collected here across about 30 pages. Multiple different cars are mentioned including Mercury and Pontiac. What an amazing slice of history and a peek into what travel journaling looked like looong before social media ❤️ So inspiring.
