East Coast Lighthouse Trek

This past weekend I officially began trekking north up the Atlantic coast! Departed out of Norfolk, VA over/under Chesapeake Bay, meanderd through Ocean City Maryland, and stopped at Friends of the Fenwick Island Lighthouse. Then hopped on the ferry from Lewes, DE into Cape May, NJ and stopped into Cape May Point State Park. The lighthouse there is pretty cool, it's the first one I've been to with a cozy little wooden clad room at the top. Normally the lamp room is just steel walled and very utilitarian.

Stopped at two more lighthouses on the New Jersey coast: Hereford Inlet Lighthouse in North Wildwood and then Abescon Lighthouse in Atlantic City. I had originally planned on continuing to hug the coast north to hit a couple more unique lighthouses along this stretch, but to be honest at this point I decided I had had my fill of the Jersey shore. Pretty chaotic area, and the number of tolls through here is seriously highway robbery 🤯 I was literally digging in my seat cushions for coins...

Instead of continuing to fight through all that, I shot inland into Philadelphia and parked up, spending the day checking out a bunch of museums and old stuff. I'll post some of those pics in separate post.

But yeah from there I continued north, and am now in Hoboken, NJ for the next couple weeks! It's directly across the Hudson from NYC, so will definitely be hopping over there every chance I get
